About Second Wind Network

About Us

Second Wind was founded with a deep sense of purpose and compassion, inspired by the experiences of working with Holocaust Survivor seniors in the Milwaukee area. While many of these individuals qualified for government assistance, critical needs fell outside the scope of such programs. Others, unable to qualify for aid, faced immense struggles managing daily challenges on their own.

Our mission is rooted in recognizing the profound physical and mental changes seniors endure as they age. These changes often require emotional support, nutritional guidance, transportation assistance, and immediate crisis intervention. Without these vital services, seniors are at risk of isolation, declining health, and loss of dignity.

We firmly believe in the transformative power of socialization. Meaningful connections can significantly enhance seniors' emotional well-being and quality of life, providing them with a sense of belonging and purpose. As the senior population grows yearly, the demand for compassionate and effective social services becomes more urgent than ever.

At Second Wind, we uphold a strong moral principle: a generation that neglects to care for its elders forsakes its own future. Through our work, we aim to ensure that every senior receives the support they need to live independently, with dignity, and surrounded by a caring community.
